J-popcon 2009, #danmarkkanintebesktivasmedord Written by: Carl Oscar 12th of November 2009

J-popcon 2009 is a convention in Valby, Copenhagen, Denmark. It's actually quite a cool event, pretty similar to UppCon that a lot of my friends (and me included) are arranging in Uppsala - however, on J-popcon you can buy and drink beer, cider and wine! They also have a much wider interest for cosplay and the cosplayers were generally much better than the Swedish ones.

Well, anyways, we (10 guys and gals from the UppCon staff) went there to see what all the fuss was about, drank some beer, some wine, some shots, visited a few pubs (with the Irish Technopub as my personal favourite and Hong Kong one of my worst memories... if I could remember it), watched the cosplay competition, nintendo ds concert by some Japanese dudes, etc., etc. I even rode a bicycle taxi together with Brita (see her blog post about the trip) after the epic Saturday night that will stay long in my memory.

The trip to Denmark was more than just the convention and I can't really describe i with words. The photos from the trip will be up in a few days; until then, take a look at the little video I compiled.

Almost a year have passed since December 2008, when I launched the fifth version of carloscar.se after some downtime. Eventually I got fed up with the site and redid most of it from scratch. So~ let me present to you, carloscar.se (remastered, uncut, awesome and without support for IE6)! Hope you won't find it too hard to use. :)

My life is quite awesome at the moment, with only a few downsides that hopefully will be sorted soon enough. I have great near friends that I enjoy talking to, hanging with, doing crazy stuff and watching movies with. I have a job in Stockholm at the cool company Agigen Ltd. where I mostly work with web development and don't have to work with people that suck at what they do - TRULY awesome people at the company! I feel happy and it's great!

During 2009 I've visited The Netherlands, Germany, Latvia and Finland and the plan is to go to Denmark (visiting J-popcon with the UppCon-staff) in November and one or two short trip(s) to Finland in December. Will be really fun, of course... I should really take care of the photo-backlog I have first though, it's clearing up but way too slow...

Going back to the website, this is visitor graph of carloscar.se from the launch of version 5 to the launch of version 6; with the most traffic-generating events highlighted. Sites that generate the most traffic are facebook, mensa.se, breakpoint, badboll, dreamhack and poledance.se and the most common google keywords are "carl oscar", "kalaspuff", "intense ear in pain" and "cosplay". Continuing with some of the least common: "carlos car", "kind of nasty", "liquid coming out of ears", "var helt jävla galet", "www.carloslucia.com.au" and "show photos on how to cum" ... "ok".

To sum up... awesome, happy and <3.

Damn it's hot here (comparing)! 26 degrees outside! This time, the real party, really IS outside.

We've arrived at the demoparty breakpoint in Germany, bought our first couple of beers and eaten some kebap (spelled with a P!).

Last year at Breakpoint I entered the photo competition and placed 5th out of 30 entries. I have a contribution for this year too, but I really don't have any idea of how it will go. Perhaps awesome, perhaps not. :D
